Illinois is in the middle of a “push” for more gambling expansion. In summary, it would allow video poker machines – known as the “crack cocaine of gambling” – into bars and other public places. Such is another way for the state to try to gamble its way into prosperity and out of debt.
Madison County Treasurer Kurt Prenzler isn’t falling for it … and he is among those leading the charge against more ruined lives that will inevitably, without a doubt, result. Kurt, a friend of mine for many years, points out that communities can reject the pressure to be involved, as many are taking advantage of choosing not be a part.
Hear Kurt Prenzler provide an excellent 10-minute explanation and update of what is happening – and what can be done. He points out that, in some cases, just a few pastors and concerned citizens are all it takes to get their city and county governments to “opt out” of being a part of the “Crack Cocaine of gambling.”
In their hearts, with all the broken promises re the benefits of legalized gambling, many know this just one more deception to do damage to the culture.
In this radio conversation, Kurt Prenzler reveals his passions on the issue by choosing to give out his cell phone number over the radio airwaves — which is 618 514-2599. Call Kurt if you would like to be connected with folks in your area in resisting this sure ruin of many.
Remember the word of God: “…find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them …” (Ephesians 5:10, 11)
