Emily Nienhuis’ lifestyle reflects her heart. Though single and open to marriage, she did not wait for a husband to love and adopt four minority girls. She points to information found at www.fosteringfaithfulfamilies.org as being enlightening in such a consideration. Heart, commitment, and God’s will are primary, but she also notes that financial support is provided in foster care and adoption. Though this may be read throughout the year, see Emily’s heart comments below about a 4-hour gathering (other such opportunities are available from time to time) to help provide “forever” homes for children in foster care:
“HOPE FOR KIDS…Has the Lord been tugging at your heart to adopt a foster child? Over 10,000 children in Missouri are in the foster care system. Over 1400 of these kids want a “forever” family. Fostering Faithful Families has partnered with agencies and local churches to help find permanent, nurturing families for these children. For more information about becoming a foster or adoptive parent, join us at HOPE FOR KIDS, Saturday, May 8, 2010 at The Journey, Tower Grove campus, in St. Louis, MO. 10am -2pm Speakers from 10am-noon, information tables from noon-2pm. REGISTER NOW AT www.fosteringfaithfulfamilies.org.”
As Emily points out, several agencies – available throughout and following the process — are partnering in offering help and encouragement for foster care and adoption of children yearning to be included in a loving and supportive home.
