“The Illinois Family Institute (IFI) is an independent 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to upholding and re-affirming marriage, family, life, and liberty in Illinois. For the past twenty-five years, IFI has worked to advance public policy initiatives consistent with Judeo-Christian teachings and traditions, educating citizens so that they can better influence their local communities and the state.”
Dr. James Dobson, with a lifetime of proclaiming and standing for Biblical Values, assisted in the beginning of the Illinois Family Institute. Below is our invitation to an upcoming IFI gathering in the St Louis area (Collinsville, Illinois) on May 22, 2021. (Reading this after May 22? ISI regularly has events throughout the year.)
1 From the Illinois Family Institute: “ISSUE: Repeal the Parental Notice of Abortion Act (HB 1797 & SB 2190)
“Contact your state lawmakers. Let them know that gutting or repealing the Parental Notice of Abortion Act will subvert families and create an environment to protect their minor daughters’ abusers. Ask them to oppose any and all efforts to repeal or amend the law and, instead, uphold parental rights.
“Democrat state lawmakers introduced the Repeal the Parental Notice of Abortion Act (HB 1797 and SB 2190) in the Illinois General Assembly’s spring legislative session. The bill would repeal the current law and allow minor females to obtain abortions without a parent’s or guardian’s knowledge. The group, Parents for the Protection of Girls, recently held a press conference announcing their strong opposition to the repeal.
“SB 2190 was introduced by Sen. Elgie Sims (D-Chicago) and HB 1797 by Rep. Anna Moeller (D-Elgin). Newly elected House Speaker Emanuel Chris Welch is one of the bill’s chief co-“sponsors. A similar bill was introduced in 2019 and failed.
“The Parental Notice of Abortion Law was passed in 1995 but wasn’t implemented until 2013 after lengthy court battles. Thirty-seven other states have some form of parental notification law.
“The law they want to repeal requires young women under the age of 18 seeking an abortion to notify a parent, legal guardian, or grandparent at least 48 hours prior to the abortion. It does not require consent. If for some reason the minor is unable to contact an adult family member, a judicial bypass may be sought. According to a report from The Catholic News Agency, about 1,000 minors in Illinois undergo an abortion each year.

2. “EVENT: Worldview Event: Beyond Hate & Division – Why CRT is Unbiblical on May 22nd at Revive Church.
“Across the country, including here in Illinois, teachers and children are being indoctrinated with Critical Race Theory lies to believe that some Americans are racist by virtue of their skin color.
“We do not have to look far to see how this agenda is being implemented. Earlier this year, the Illinois State Board of Education added new “Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards” for teachers. IFI’s Laurie Higgins wrote about this new mandate back in February saying,
“[T]he goal of the leftists who created these “standards” is to infuse the assumptions of Critical Race Theory, identity politics, BLM, and the 1619 Project into 1. all teacher-training programs/education majors, 2. all Professional Education Licensing (PEL), and 3. all public school classrooms.
“For years and unbeknown to parents, many teachers in Illinois public schools have been disseminating leftist beliefs about identity politics—beliefs that derive from Critical Race Theory/Critical Theory and which inform BLM and the 1619 Project. Now, indoctrination is going to worsen.
“Learn more about CRT and how to respond to the lies permeating our culture by joining us for our seventh annual worldview conference featuring Angela Sailor, Stacy Washington, and Alex Newman at REVIVE Church in Collinsville! For more information about our speakers, please download this flyer.”
IFI Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the infallible, authoritative word of God and inerrant in its original autographs.
We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory, to raise the dead and bring salvation and judgment to completion.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.
We believe in the life everlasting for those who place their trust and faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
