It happens about every week … hearing of a new and fine ministry – a work of God — that is new to me! Such is the case of the great hockey-related ministry profiled at www.hockeyministries.org!
I learned of this ministry from now-businessman Charlie Blyth of Blyth Trailer Sales in St. Louis, former hockey player with the River City Otters, and his outstanding volunteerism with the ministry.
Don Liesemer is the founder and president of Hockey Ministries International.

He communicates in his brief story … which can be heard right now … with the National Hockey League’s All-Star game of 2020 being held in St. Louis … that the “Hockey Ministries International” conducts its Annual Breakfast in the city hosting the Annual All-Star Game. Known hockey names attending and leading will include DAVID BACKES, MIKE “DOC” EMRICK, SHANE DOAN, JOHN VANBIESBROUCK, CHARLIE SLOAN and DON LIESEMER, founder and President.
That would be in St. Louis!
And we are all invited … on the Saturday morning of January 25, 2020, in a nice, downtown hotel.
Considering the last time the All-Star Ministries Breakfast was in St. Louis … and when the next one will likely occur here … this January 25, 2020 Breakfast may be the only such hockey ministries in St. Louis within a 50 year period … indeed, a rare opportunity.
Veteran Hockey Ministries team member and Stanley Cup winner, Chico Resch observes that …“Today a church is not only a dwelling or building, but also something much more fluid. Sometimes the church is a rink, locker room, hotel lobby or an encounter that takes place on the ice.”
