“The Pillar Foundation serves as a resource center for the homeschooling community. We seek to preserve the truth of the Christian faith and to restore our nation’s Christian heritage by equipping others with a Biblical Worldview. To accomplish this mission, we teach supplemental classes and provide a lending library for homeschooling families.”
Description
See below as to how Dan Hite nearly died while at work!
When Mark and Pat Andrews sold their MarkAndy manufacturing Company in Chesterfield Valley in west St. Louis County, Mo, they used much of the money to establish movements to advance righteousness and Christian worldviews, especially in the lives of young people.
One was the “Pillar Foundation.” Another was a foundation to help couples finance international adoptions.
In this conversation, we gain many inspirational insights from Pillar’s fine Director, Daniel Hite.
From www.thepillar.org about Daniel Hite:
He teaches regarding Christian Self-Government,
American History, Understanding the Times, Worldview Foundations
“Dan Hite became the Director of The Pillar Foundation in 2011 and has enjoyed teaching Pillar classes since 2005. He is a native of St. Louis, MO and has lived in the metro area all but six years of his life. He and his wife, Leah, homeschooled their son and now enjoy being grandparents. Dan is an ordained minister and has served as a pastor or church staff member for over 40 years. In the parachurch sector, he has served as a non-profit chairman and CEO, seminary president, and board member of various organizations. He enjoys teaching the Biblical Christian worldview in many academic disciplines, as well as enjoying good music in a variety of genres, the performing arts, and classic movies.”
At my request, Dan includes a story of a time when exercising his duties at Pillar where he nearly “dropped dead!” Literally, if his wife Leah had not immediately found him on the floor by his office, he would be in Heaven. But, thankfully, “the Lord is not through with him yet!”
“It was Tuesday, and the next thing I knew, it was Friday! I awoke in the hospital.”
Many classes are provided each year … free … to hundreds of mostly homeschool young people, mostly homeschoolers. Anyone may register, even as some adults do.
Did I say … FREE?
Yes, I did. The Pillar offices can be contacted at”
