Martha Jane (Mrs. Mark) Grossmann told me of her dear friend, Susan Bick, who was relating the painful story of her only child Rachael Bick’s death, age 7. The purpose was to deal with her grief, to honor Rachael … and Jesus! In early 2016 young Rachel was going to a school activity with her father. An auto accident took her life!
I invited Susan to share the story on radio.
She did … and you can hear her now.
Helping Susan through her grief is .. the grace of God, other loved ones, and the complete assurance that Rachael is in Heaven! Susan will one day to caress Rachael … again!
And now she is doing more than telling Rachael’s story. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Susan is going to host a “Christmas Across America” party, helping children to understand the true meaning of Christmas.
All the materials and training she needs to host a good “CAA” party for children will come from Child Evangelism Fellowship (www.cefonline.com) with world headquarters located in Warrenton, Mo (one hour west of St. Louis).
In 2015, in CAA’s very first year, there were nearly 2,500 such parties conducted, attended by more than 60,000! In 2016 the goal is to have 5,000 such parties. CEF provides a kit for each party host … such as Susan Bick … valued at $125. They include all kinds of “helps” and “favors,” such as DVD’s of “The Story of Jesus for Children” for attending children to take home. (To view this terrific film, visit http://www.jesusfilm.org/watch/the-story-of-jesus-for-children.html/english.html.}
So for Susan Bick, grief and love for her precious daughter Rachael has translated into positive action to enrich children, honor Rachael … and Jesus!.
Other “Christmas Across America” party hosts are yet needed. Would you pray about this wonderful opportunity to serve?
