In 2006 Dr. Solomon Kendagor, a native of Kenya but living in St. Louis, was asked by his fellow Kenyans to make a statement by radio to his fellow Kenyans in the Kalenjin language. That experience went so well that he was asked to keep on doing it, each Saturday evening that went “live” into Kenya which was morning there. The estimated audience is 5,000,000! He has continued for these many years, first by cellphone, and now from a studio in his St. Louis home. Now cameras have been added to Solomon and three others during their radio broadcast. These are sent to Kenya, are edited there, and shown on Kenyan television several times a week!
Now Solomon’s media opportunities are expanding. They include broadcasting in the Swahili language, understood throughout Kenya and the surrounding countries.
The Kenyan government has now asked him to lead a Kenyan “Peace Initiative.”
(This information about Solomon Kendagor’s expanding media ministry is to be “filled out” in future broadcasts.)
Another expanded and exciting anticipation is taking shape. Friend Ryan Wagner is in ministry of advancing the “Jesus Film” project in Orlando, Florida, sponsored by “Cru” (Campus Crusade for Christ). He and wife Jamie’s focus is to get the Jesus Film on as many cellphones around the world as possible. When I told Solomon what Ryan told me … “that there is a way to get the Jesus Film on cellphones …. and that any one of about 1,400 languages can be selected with the viewing of it,” Solomon joined me in excitement and immediately indicated his intention to encourage the millions in his listening and viewing audience to download it to their cell phones. (There are more cell phones in the world than toothbrushes or people)!
