The Bible says that “… everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted …” (II Timothy 3:12)

A pastor in the St. Louis area, Kenny Qualls, makes regular and intentional visit to parts of Asia, to visit and encourage the persecuted church. He tells them that they are not forgotten … and that they are admired by Christians in the USA, especially in the local church he leads, First Baptist of Arnold, Mo. (www.fbcarnold.org).
They are believing the Word of God and worshiping Jesus, the Son of God, just like all followers of Him should be believing and doing.
Pastor Qualls provides staggering statistics on the larger scale of Christian persecution worldwide. In remembering that the average Christian Church is small, he especially calls our attention to one local church in Asia. In worshiping and having fellowship with that body of believers totaling 140 – 150 range, he has never felt the presence of God more powerfully. Yet 16 members of their church – our brothers and sisters – 16 have been killed … martyred … because of their saving, lived out faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!
The lives of at least 10% of that body of believers had been “wiped out!”
As we look around our fellow believers … in our church or otherwise – which 10% of them might we expect to be murdered because they had been saved and believe that their treasured Bible is the Word of God!
Pastor Kenny Qualls is a Sunday morning programmer — an excellent preacher – on Bott Radio Network, KSIV St. Louis.
This radio conversation with Pastor Qualls is even more memorable to me – in a peculiar way. In the middle of this recording – I was having a mild stroke in my brain stem, called the “pons” area.
But I am thankful that recovery appears to be on the way and … though my tongue got “thick” at the time, my ongoing speech does not appear damaged. To God be the Glory!!!!
