Pastor Stoney Shaw until recently was the ten years pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ferguson (Mo) His pastorate included the time of the 2014 turmoil there. While the world was presented an image that Ferguson was basically “racist,” the church that Stoney led was made up of perhaps a 30% – 70% ratio of black to white attenders, a very loving and enriching fellowship of the two races.
On a personal note, Joan and I were members of a Sunday School class of nearly half and half in racial makeup, which was and is a very sweet fellowship under the guidance of our fine Bible teacher, Linda (Mrs. Clay) Riddlesperger.
But now Pastor Stoney — my more-than-30-year friend – is moving into his next phase of ministry. Many times during those years I have heard him speak of The Exchanged Life. It rests upon the very Biblical concept found in Galatians 2:20: “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live. Yet not I, but Christ lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Pastor Shaw is now available to teach and preach this concept. It rests on the reality that we cannot live the Christian life in our own power. Such is impossible. Overcoming requires that Jesus Christ living out Himself through us. Stoney’s specialty is this area is available in the form of his personal counseling, a teaching message, or as a Friday evening – Saturday morning seminar. He can adjust to the need.
Stoney is assisted by Louie Vanreed and her husband, Bruce. Louie comments that she is honored that she has been invited to be a part of this great ministry. She is heard in the recording.
It is called The Great Exchange Ministry, and will be used of God in the lives of many to discover how Jesus Christ in them can live the Christian life in victory, joy, and success. His office is located in the Ferguson First Baptist Church.
