Dr. Bill Bright – from the last half of the 20th century until today — is thought to be one of the two most impacting Christians in the world. The other, in my judgment, is Evangelist Dr. Billy Graham. In the 1950-s, Dr. Bright founded Campus Crusade for Christ, now known as “Cru.”
In recent years Dr. Bright “went to be with the Lord.”
As of December 23, 2015 … “Christmas eve eve” … Vonette Bright, his life’s partner in marriage and ministry, has joined him. .
The magnitude of how the living God used Bill and Vonette Bright’s is, to me, beyond amazing … even beyond staggering!
His impact was noted by his once receiving the annual Templeton Award of $1,000,000! “I was a millionaire for about five minutes,” he once said … before passing the check to the ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ.
Just one “branch” of many spinoff ministers is “The Jesus Film.” (www.jesusfilmmedia.org). This impacting and quality film account of the life of Jesus Christ, based on the Bible book of Luke, is now translated into nearly 1,400 languages … and counting It has been … and continues to be … seen by multiplied millions worldwide. The beautiful children’s film version can be accessed … right now … by clicking on http://jesusfilmmedia.org/1_529-cl-0-0/.
Years ago Dr. Bright appointed Nancy Wilson (www.nancywilson.org) as an “International Ambassador of Campus Crusade for Christ.” As a result, Nancy has visited 60 countries, ministering Jesus to so many. She includes a major focus on “StoryWave,” (also known as storying) recognizing that the world’s majority is primarily “oral” in learning and communications, and need to hear the bible in Stories, the same way Jesus taught. – And enjoy the fun part of Nancy’s account, such as the time she sat beside Vonette in a teaching session to Nancy and other staff members on etiquette. As Nancy was passing the butter, it slipped off the dish into Vonette’s water glass!
