Dr. Robert Loggins of St. Louis, MO, visited Charleston, SC, and worshiped in the Emanuel AME Church wherein nine believers were murdered during their small group bible study and prayer. Robert was moved as he described the Christ-like responses of love and forgiveness of family members of the victims, the senior pastor, and the entire church! Their remarkable expressions unveiled the character and heart of Jesus Christ … and have impacted people locally and around the world. .
What a contrast to darkness and evil! While “Isis,” for instance, murderers and decapitates Christians and others out of evil and hate, Christians in Charleston are offering forgiveness and praying for a murderer filled with hate.
Robert Loggins is a personal friend of mine for nearly 30 years. We are both natives of Mississippi. In various areas of service throughout his adult life, one ministry “hat” he wears is that of being the Minister-at-Large of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. AGRM is composed of about 300 rescue missions … serving the poor and homeless with food, shelter, love and the good news of Jesus … located throughout the USA and other parts of the Western Hemisphere.
AGRM’s Executive Director John Ashmen leads the Association. He asked Robert to represent the Association at the Charleston events for healing and support.
In addition to worshiping with the Emanuel AME Church while in Charleston, Robert was to travel to Columbia, SC, to attend the Wednesday afternoon, June 25, honoring of Rev. Clementa Pinckney, a South Carolina State Senator and one of the murdered victims as he lay in state in the State Capitol Building.
