John Thrower, President of the Family Vision Library describes it as “… the only free Christian public lending library in the United States!” It is located in the west portion of greater St. Louis, MO.
It is a ministry operating within the framework of Christ-honoring principles and services.
More than 5,000 people have library cards. The only cost to participants being checked out items returned later than the allowed two weeks … at only 15 cents per item per day. John Thrower and his staff rejoice in its ministry … and welcomes more people to utilize it.
A large number of homeschooling parents have found the library’s hours and materials consistent with their needs and focus.
A large meeting room is available for gatherings consistent with FVL ministry.
From the website, www.thefamilyvision.org. we read …
“The Family Vision is a nonprofit Christian ministry which operates a lending library and a homeschool consignment outlet.
“We have seen the Lord’s blessing in increased patrons, materials and vision.
“Our mission statement is Faithfully Equipping Generations.
“As a Christian ministry organization, we strive to Faithfully adhere to God’s standard for the individual and the family.
“We are Equipping by furnishing people with resources to prepare them to be Biblical leaders in their home, church, community and nation.
“This work is not just for now, but for Generations that will follow: our children, and their children and succeeding generations.
“Our key ministry verse is Psalm 78:4:
“We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
“Since 2005, The Family Vision has ministered to many families and has seen the Lord’s strength and wonderful works manifest in this Christian ministry.
“The Family Vision Board of Directors and staff give all the glory and thanks to God for his gracious provision and guidance in this work.”
