Pastor Jose Aguayo, a volunteer Billy Graham Rapid Response chaplain, explains the “Adopt a Block” ministry in Ferguson. The plan coordinates each participating church/ministry to literally adopt a square block for ministry purposes, in this case in Ferguson, MO. They knock on each door … usually weekly … to show support and the love of Jesus to the people in each residence.
The early reports of the participating ministries are rejoicing in the early response.
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association sponsors and provides materials in training for “Adopt A Block.”
Pastor Jose would be delighted to hear from you, welcoming your call to learn more – such as the dates for upcoming training sessions. He can be called at (314) 503-8302 or emailed at fergusonadoptablock@gmail.com.
A wonderful article in the Christian Examiner titled “Graham ministry aims to transform Ferguson through Adopt-a-Block” … quoting from Pastor Jose Aguayo and Ferguson’s First Baptist Church Senior Pastor Stoney Shaw … can be accessed by clicking here.
Assisting Pastor Jose in some of the Adopt A Block training is Dr. Anastasia Syes, founder of the JECM Foundation, and MO representative of the American Christian Coalitional Liaison. Included in her ministry is helping 501 © (3) ministries access foundations for support. She mentions an April 23, 2015 event in the St. Louis area in her brief comments in this time of radio … but should have information for similar meeting in the future. The number we have for her ministry work is 636-328-3705.
