The world’s spotlight on Ferguson appeared to be all tragedy … at first.
Then our God ignited a fire in His people!
Good things were … and are … happening … without the cameras of the media about.
Much seeking of God … much prayer … much repenting … much focus on biblical unity among God’s people just as Jesus Christ prayed for in his priestly prayer in John 17:20-23.
Lynne Jackson, a born-again follower of Jesus – helping plan and attending the “We Are One” Ferguson Jan 25 event of repentance and biblical unity — is the great-great-granddaughter of Dred and Harriet Scott. As the 150th anniversary in 2008 of the infamous Dred Scott decision was approaching in 2008, … a court decision in the mid 1800’s that black Americans were something less than human … Lynne formed and led The Dred Scott Heritage Foundation (www.thedredscottfoundation.org). That court decision was a commemoration to remember and not a celebration.
Good results included the placing of an impacting life-sized statue of Dred and Harriet on the southeast quarter of the lawn of the Old House in St. Louis, MO …1/2 mile west of the St. Louis Arch.
With the 2014 tragic events centered in Ferguson, Lynne Jackson … and many others like her … sought God for solutions and saw at work. They were to see the Kingdom of God advance.
