On Sunday, February 22, 2015, the featured front page story of the St. Louis Post Dispatch read: “Gone, Without a Trace” with an additional full page on the story inside. It is an account of the complete disappearance of Lynn Messer, wife of Kerry Messer, appreciated Christian leader and Founder and President of the Missouri Family Network. Lynn Messer, a friend to many of us, has now been missing for more than a half year. Today we rebroadcast the first [second]] [third] of three segments of radio done earlier on Bott Radio Network-owned KSIV-AM in St. Louis with Kerry Messer wherein he tells the compelling and powerful story of his wife of 35 years, Lynn Messer.
After being with children doing her volunteer Vacation Bible School ministry at her church on July 8, 2014, Lynn Messer returned home, did VBS preparation for the next evening, and went to bed.
By 4:00 AM the next morning she had disappeared. Over two months later she has not been found.
Kerry and Lynn Messer have been married over 34 years. They have been partners in an unusual but effective ministry all those years. Early in their marriage out of personal conviction Kerry was involved in action on a biblical and moral issue and as a result, was fired from his work. This led to the loss of his south St. Louis, MO, house. With two small sons, he moved his young family an hour south to his parents’ family farm. The house they moved into – sometimes used as a barn — had been empty for 15 years and, at the time, had no indoor plumbing.
Kerry was soon to begin the Missouri Family Network (www.missourifamilynetwork.net). For over 30 years he has been a remarkably effective and respected lobbyist for traditional and biblical values in the Missouri Legislature in Jefferson City. Lynn has been by his side and active in their ministry!
As of this writing, the mystery of the disappearance of Lynn Messer … continues.
