Bott Radio programmer Dr. Tony Evans (www.tonyevans.org) visits St. Louis, MO for a rally sponsored by Bott Radio Network. He is hosted by First Baptist Church of Chesterfield (www.firstbcc.org – west side of St. Louis County) and their pastor, Dr. T. D. Stubblefield.
While the event … May 15, 2014 … may have already occurred by the time you are reading this, anytime listening will contain ongoing inspiration.
From the web: “Dr. Tony Evans is founder and senior pastor of the 8500-member Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, founder and president of ‘The Urban Alternative,’ former chaplain of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, and present chaplain of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. His radio broadcast, ‘The Alternative with Dr. Tony Evans,’ can be heard on nearly 1,000 US radio outlets daily and in more than 130 countries. For more information, visit www.TonyEvans.org.”
For years, Dr. Evans has been aired daily on the nearly 100 stations of Bott Radio Network (www.bottradionetwork.com).
Joining this brief radio conversation with Tony Evans is Dr. T. D. Stubblefield, senior pastor of the event’s host Church, First Baptist of Chesterfield. When T.D. joined me in the St. Louis Bott studios, he handed me a copy of his new book: Sacred Seed and Living Bread, accompanied by a warmly worded personal note acknowledging our long-time friendship!
I continue to be awed at the history of host church, FBC of Chesterfield. It was founded in 1846 by slaves! Men and women “owned” by others refused to be slaves in their inner – spirits to no one other than their risen Lord … Jesus Christ! They gave birth to the church that stands as a powerful witness today as to the sustaining power of God!
(On a personal note: T.D. and I recalled the time we were together with the larger group supporting “Christian Family Day in Busch Stadium” – an annual Saturday afternoon summer ministry event – founded by Judy Boen – involving the St. Louis Cardinal baseball club. On CFD, thousands of inner-city children were given a party, Chic-fil-a meals, the ball game, followed by a concert and testimonies honoring Jesus — all free! The Cardinals win-loss record those 19 years was 17-2.
During the game T.D. mentioned to me privately his interest in becoming a Bott Radio programmer. I was pleased to guide him to the next step … with my affirmation of T.D. with the Bott owners. For years now he continues to proclaim God’s word each Sunday at 7:00 AM on the 100,000-watts of Bott FM Radio 91.5.)
