Interview synopsis:
Jake Rosen calls our attention to a “March of Remembrance,” occurring in many locations each year, important in our never forgetting the horrors of World War II’s “Holocaust” – the staggering reality of the murder if 6,000,000 Jews in Europe. At its conclusion of the March, a moving presentation – featuring a survivor of the Holocaust — begins at 3:00 PM in the St. Louis History Museum on the northwest edge of Forest Park.
The gripping story of Bronia Rosen, Jake Rosen’s mother, can be read in her own words by clicking on http://jewishpainter.blogspot.com/2008/11/my-mom-self-published-book.html. It has parallels to The Diary of Ann Frank. As a teenager and before her marriage, Bronia Rosen was forced into the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz. While there she became ill and went into a coma. When she awoke, the Allied forces had liberated Auschwitz … and Bronia Rosen.
Because most of Bronia’s family had been murdered during the War, and seeking to find surviving family members after the war, she wrote to others with the last name of “Rosen.” One man with whom Bronia had exchanged letters, she finally met .. and married! In so doing, Bronia Rosen became Bronia Rosen!
Jake Rosen is one of the good results of that marriage.
In this brief time of radio, Jake calls our attention to the “March of Remembrance,” urging others to also take part.
He also discusses the realities of “Passover,” which in 2014 began on the day of this radio broadcast recording.
