Naghmeh (pronounced “Nog’ may”) Abedini is being used of God to call attention to persecuted Christians worldwide. Facts:
· She is the wife of an American citizen, and the native Iranian, Pastor Saeed Abedini, persecuted and imprisoned in the notorious Evin Prison in his native Iran for functioning as a Christian. At the time he was developing plans for building an orphanage there on family owned property.
· Naghmeh is depicted full cover on the September issue of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s “Decision” Magazine … with the powerful story inside. Her husband Saeed was once a radical Muslim who pondered thoughts of killing a Christian who said that Jesus was God.
· From Decision Magazine, September, 2013, p 11: “As he went to bed one night … Saeed heard a voice in the room, saying, ‘Saeed, I am coming soon. Go preach My Gospel.’ An hour later, he awoke to hear he very same words. Saeed fell back to sleep. He awoke again to a bright light shining through the window. As the light approached him, the command was repeated. Shaking and sweating, Saeed found himself saying, ‘I will do it.’”
· (Much more about Islamic people having Dreams and Visions of Jesus can be accessed at … http://www.morethandreams.org/, wherein a powerful DVD of five reenactments of such stories is available for ordering.)
· Also from same September issue of Decision Magazine, p 12, quoting Naghmeh: My husband is in jail simply because he loves Jesus Christ …. He was arrested as he worked on an orphanage we are building on property we own and for which we had received all the proper permits. He was also gathering peacefully with fellow Christians in their private homes, expressing his faith.”
· On September 26 the BGEA ran a full page letter in the New York Times from Dr. Billy Graham to the Iranian President in behalf of Pastor Abedini … at the time when the Iranian President and delegation were in New York City attending the United Nations. The next day … in the first conversation between an American President and a President of Iran in 35 years … President Obama included a reference of the imprisonment of Pastor Saeed.
· Jay Sekulow and the American Center of Law and Justice are advocates of Pastor Saeed.
· Naghmeh has spoken before the United Nations … and on BBC and the Voice of America, heard by millions in Iran and the Middle East … in behalf of her jailed husband, wherein she honored the Name and saving power of Jesus.
· Known prayer vigils for Pastor Saeed have occurred in 85 US cities and 16 countries.
· www.savesaeed.org was posted less than a year from this copy by the American Center of Law and Justice in behalf of Pastor Saeed … and has “… garnered more than 600,000 signatures from people around the world demanding Saeed’s release from illegal incarceration.” (Decision Magazine, Sept, 2013, p.12)
· On October 29, 2013, Nog’may is to be the Kansas City guest and speaker at the Annual Session of the Missouri Baptist Convention. (See www.mbcpathway.org and www.missouribaptist.org.)
· Appreciation is extended to Don Hinkle … editor of the Missouri Baptist Convention’s Pathway (www.mbcpathway.com — which includes a feature titled: “Editor Don Hinkle interviewed by Harold Hendrick”) … and to Jayne Patton of Wentzville, MO for providing the connections for recording this time of radio with Naghmeh Saeed.
