In the Bott radio studios in St. Louis, we had just competed recording radio with Bonny Kibuuka of Uganda, this year’s spokesperson for Operation Christmas Child. In our conversation I learned that his Godly but poor parents … a Pastor and his Sunday School teacher wife, parents to Bonny and his brother … had adopted eight little girls who had nowhere else to go, it really caught my attention. Who, even among materially prosperous people, adopts eight little children … all at one time?
And what church begins a home for girls’, especially a poor church, starts and maintains an orphanage of more than 50 girls that must grow a garden to have enough food to feed everyone! It is named the “RESTORATION HOUSE.”
The young lady overseeing the “Restoration House” was abandoned as a child! Now she leads such a meaningful ministry!
Bonny came to the United States to attend Great Lakes Christian College (See https://www.glcc.edu/) . He graduated with a focus on aviation and, subsequently, has completed an apprenticeship in airplane maintenance.
His ultimate goal is to minister through a group like “Missionary Aviation Fellowship” (www.maf.org). In the past I had learned stories of the value of aviation in missions, such as … a mission objective in a remote area that could take a week to get to overland could be reached in only a one hour flight.

Bonny received a Christmas Box as a young boy when a group came to his town and church in Uganda with boxes for all the children. This was the first gift he ever remembers having gotten at that time. This is the season for filling and getting the boxes delivered to a drop off point.
