This wonderful story of God’s power to heal a child – in this case, Joan and my granddaughter and the middle child of Kevin and Karis Burritt – reminds me of the grief of parents and grandparents who grieve at the death of their little one!
We all live at the mercy of the living God, the Creator of us all.
But in the instance of granddaughter Savannah Joan Burritt, a miracle from God occurred … and she was eventually healed. God indeed extended her life.
The young family was living with us temporarily in North St. Louis County before moving a half hour west … to O’Fallon Missouri.
Just before Savannah was age one, she crawled beside my chair … and plopped down, apparently exhausted. Fast action by her parents caused them to move quickly. In contrast to the medical advice that they wait until after the weekend (it was Friday), they rushed Savannah to the hospital emergency room.
It probably saved her life, for she was soon diagnosed with “dilated cardiomyopathy,” an enlarged heart.
Hear Kevin and Karis Burritt provide the account of nearly “losing” her … before age one.
The next 10 years was a process of rushing to Children’s Hospital to perform a heart transplant … which proved not to be a “fit!”
Her parents, Savannah’s older sister, Samantha, and her younger brother, Sterling, have been and are all remarkably supportive of her through the years.
And we are so thankful for probably thousands who have brought the name of Savannah Joan Burritt in intercession before God’s throne of grace!
Hear the moving story of this display of God’s mercy … with their three children in the recording studio … in her parents own words.
