Carla Morgan is the Missouri Coordinator of “Moms in Prayer.” (See www.momsinprayer.org). She explains the wonderful practice wherein only two or more women meet, usually with other moms of children in the same school.
Moms in Prayer, formerly named “Moms in Touch,” had a small, “mustard seed” beginning … and, as of this writing, is, … “Embraced by mothers in more than 140 countries, together, we cry out to God for the lives of our children – raising our prayers in a chorus of languages.”
Important visionary statements from www.momsinprayer.org:
“Join the worldwide community of moms praying for our kids and schools in more than 140 countries and all 50 U.S. states”
“Our Mission: Moms in prayer International impacts schools and children worldwide for Christ by gathering mothers to pray. Our vision is that every school in the world would be covered by prayer.” (Based on Psalm 19: 7 & 8)
And a prayer they suggest:
“God, may your perfect laws protect, make wise and give joy and light to the staff and students at ________________ School.” (Personalized by those in prayer to include the names of children and a school or schools.) `
And from … https://momsinprayer.org/who-we-are/global-community/:
Moms in Prayer is a“global community of moms gathering to pray for children and schools. Embraced by mothers in more than 140 countries, together, we cry out to God for the lives of our children – raising our prayers in a chorus of languages.”
A wonderful prayer offer to those involved in mission trips: “Mission Trips:“ Are you going on a mission trip and want to share with Moms in Prayer? Email us at International@MomsInPrayer.org so we can pray for you!”
Carla concludes this brief radio time together with “Tips on Prayer,” – good for any of us — but a focus of “Moms in Prayer” which are …
- Praise
- Silent Confession
- Thanksgiving
- Intercession
Carla notes that a “Moms in Prayer” group can begin with just two people, and can include grandmas and other women concerned for schools and the children in them.

Bio for Carla Morgan, Missouri State Coordinator for Moms In Prayer
“My Moms in Prayer adventure started in 2002 when my first child was entering kindergarten. The concerns and burdens about the school year were many, but great blessing and joy awaited me as I joined a prayer group for my local school.
“Throughout my adventure, I have been overwhelmed by the privilege of praying with and for other moms and seeing how God is so faithful and good! He has answered so many prayers and given much peace. Many times I have pushed myself to get to a Moms in Prayer meeting, but there has never been a time when I wasn’t thankful that I attended. There were days I went to the prayer time frazzled and worried, but came home with God’s peace and assurance that everything in His hands because He loves and cares about these children far beyond what I am capable of.
“I believe there is a common lie of the enemy that tries to get us to believe that God is just asking us to do one more thing we don’t have time for. The reality is that God wants to give us something. He wants to bless us with His peace and assurance and answers to our prayers!
“My husband, Lionel, and I married in 1986, and we are blessed with two wonderful children, Ben and Amy. God is guiding us through a new life phase of college, approaching empty nest, and retirement. I love spending time with my family and enjoying the beauty and diversity of God’s creation.
“One of my favorite verses is Deuteronomy 31:8
“The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (NIV).
