Sue Stoltz is the Mid-Missouri manager of Bott Radio Network (www.bottradionetwork.com) . She is also the six-state Midwest National Area Leader for the National Day of Prayer, working with former NDP Chairwoman Shirley (Mrs. James) Dobson and for years, many others.
She shared with me a moving story that one might expect from such a fine and spiritual lady. As a very young child, Sue jumped into the swimming pool at the deep end … and quickly got into danger of drowning, virtually unnoticed by the adults there. But her brother, just a bit older, came to her rescue and quickly saved her from drowning.
Mountains of good have since come out of the life of Sue Stoltz. It is difficult to imagine the many wonderful things that would not have happened … had she not lived. Reminds me of the kind of story that might have been in the Jimmy Stewart movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life!”
As a young adult, Sue (received a promise from the Lord that she would be a part of saving her brother’s life spiritually by leading him to the Lord) And it happened in February 2018 after 40 years of praying and sharing with him.
As a brilliant man he entered the high tech world of Silicone Valley in California, worked as a Principal Scientist at the beginning of a well-known software company and worked with Steve Jobs to create a personal ink jet printer. He never had any children, was not married and from a fine Christian home, but he never became “reconciled to God.” (II Corinthians 5:20,21) Until recently.
He was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and was gripped by it for months.
The only person he wanted with him was his dear sister, Sue Stoltz.
She went to California to be with him and care for him. They had long conversations together sharing God’s word and lots of prayers. She was able to communicate with him that he needed forgiveness from God and that Jesus could and would do it, when asked. She reminded him that their dear parents were in Heaven. Sue had sought the Lord long ago and knew that she would be there in Heaven. She told him how she so hoped that he would be there also, lovingly letting him know her heart.
So the brother who had once saved her life, she was able to connect him with the Son of God who forgives and who is able to give us the wonderful gift of forgiveness … and eternal life in Heaven.
He accepted the Savior and the wonderful offer from God! All of us who are “saved” (Acts 16:31) will meet him one day … with all the others who Jesus has saved … in Heaven!
