Businessman Stan Bower reports that in his early adulthood in Texas he was “greedy” and “messed up!” But Jesus come into his life and gave him meaning, purpose, and joy! He was called to take his “new” life … with wife Laura and children … to St. Louis.
For years, Stan has effectively led CBMC (Connecting Businessmen to Christ) in the St. Louis Region (www.cbmcstl.com). His work took him almost daily … sometimes several times a day … to meet “one to one” with men to encourage them, through their friendship, disciple them (using “Operation Timothy” — II Timothy 2:2). Of course, take them through Scripture to lead them to Christ, if they had not yet received Him. (See Romans 5:8; John 1:12 & 13; I John 5:11 & 12.)
CBMC sponsors “discussion groups” that allow men to meet weekly in friendships, encouragement and support. They avoid “churchy” language for men who have no church background. Now Stan and Laura are headed toward Dallas to bring the CBMC ministry there. We think of the them as “our missionaries” to Dallas.
