Every time I hear remarkable and inspirational historian David Barton, I hear documental stories of our country’s heritage that I had never heard before!
And those who attend the annual “St. Charles (MO) Ministry to Men Prayer Breakfast” in the St. Charles Convention Center (women also attend) — on September 6, 2017, at 7:30 AM, can expect the same. Hundreds attend each year, being a “highlight” of that region. (For ticket purchase information, click on www.ministrytomen.net)
This is the first of two radio segments – available for anytime listening — that I recorded with David. You’ll be impacted when you listen to this one. But an additional staggering truth in the next one … to be available here very soon … provides wonderful facts regarding Thomas Jefferson’s famous phrase “separation of church and state.” The wide use of the quote “… separation of church and state …” was written to the pastors of Danbury, CT, to assure them that the pending United States Constitution was to protect them from concerns of abuses of the government to churches and people of faith … rather than protecting the government from people of faith!!
As an early President of the United States of America, Thomas Jefferson also served as a member of the Washington, D.C. Board of Education. As a board member, he was responsible for approving the reading content of the District of Columbia (DC) public school students. And what were his two reading choices for teaching the public school children to read?
Are you sitting down?!
Thomas Jefferson choose, for the public school children …
- The Bible! And …
- Isaac Watts’ hymnal, “Palms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs, 1707,” wherein every hymn honors the Bible and its teachings!
From www.wallbuilders.com, which was founded and is led by Historian David Barton …
“WallBuilders is an organization dedicated to presenting America’s forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on the moral, religious, and constitutional foundation on which America was built – a foundation which, in recent years, has been seriously attacked and undermined. In accord with what was so accurately stated by George Washington, we believe that “the propitious [favorable] smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation which disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself has ordained.”
