For 45 years New Life Evangelistic Center in downtown St. Louis has been helping poor and homeless people who usually do not have anywhere else to go.
Tonight, like other nights for years, they may be caring for — providing food, shelter, and a safe place to sleep – perhaps for 200 or more people.
But of late, investors are building high-in “lofts” (condos) out of existing buildings in the NLEC area … and these homeless people may be driving their values down.
So the St. Louis Board of Public Service, the Board of Building Appeals and the mayoral administration have now voted to shut down this compassionate ministry/church for the poor and homeless … children, women, men … because, apparently they are considered a “problem!”
At the same time, the St. Louis Aldermen want to make St. Louis a sanctuary city for abortion.
Hear Pastor Bobo’s powerful and passionate statement of opposition to the efforts to close down the great ministry to the homeless and poor, New Life Evangelistic Center in St. Louis, after 45 years of ministry. As of now, the deadline to close NLEC is April 1, 2017.
Along comes Pastor/Dr. Ron Bobo … and others like him … who are convinced that this is just plain wrong! Pastor Bobo has been the respected pastor of West Side Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, Mo for 30 years! He is an excellent voice for righteousness and for proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. An overview of the dynamic life of the church is seen at their website, www.westsidembc.org.
He is also the founder/leader of Sharing Hope International Ministries — www.sharinghopeim.org.
And Pastor Ron and I have been friends for perhaps 25 of those years.
From the internet…
