Well, maybe not really “knock your socks off!” But what a dramatic and griping story it is! It began several years ago when Brad Gilbert came to his high school daughter’s baptism to affirm and support her. What happened then and there was remarkable and life changing … with a very happy ending … that has not yet ended.
What I didn’t know until well along in the story that, at the time, Brad’s life was in a “shambles,” battling alcoholism and threatened with divorce. But things were to get better … and serve as an example of what can happen to all of us, even in the worst of our hard times.
I first heard Brad tell his impacting story at a men’s steak dinner – his then pastor Dr. Phillip Hunter brought the challenge as the guest speaker – at the First Baptist Church of Ferguson, Mo, where he introduced Brad who gave his impacting testimony.
Brad came on radio with me, telling his powerful story. You can be impacted by … right now … by hearing Brad Gilbert … in his own words.
On the recording I brought up that I had seen Brad honored on the front page of the auto section of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “As sales manager of the Bommarito Ford Dealership in north St. Louis County, he received the 2015 Ford Motor Company’s Award for his outstanding sales, service, and customer satisfaction.”
(Dr. Hunter and I had recorded radio, aired on Bott Radio Network-owned KSIV-FM (91.5) in St. Louis, still available for anytime listening at www.thinkinggod,org under “Radio Programs…”)
