Marv Schaefer, Prez, Mo Assn of Creation. Received Christ at age 50; sees animals in whole new light
Marv Schaefer now has a whole new appreciation of the animals at the zoo … and many other things! As president of Missouri Association for Creation, he notes a whole new concept of children appreciating the animals in the zoo, in this case, the St. Louis Zoo.
At the “Home School Day at the [St. Louis] Zoo”, — currently happening twice a year — seven groups of children, 20 per group, rotate for 10-minute explanations at seven different animal locations within the zoo. In each case, a different creation specialist provides amazing facts of the details of how God created each animal
Marv’s spot is mostly with the giraffes. You will be amazed, pleasantly shocked, awed and even amused by what Marv has learned and shares about giraffes in each of these brief radio conversations.

Marv Schaefer’s story includes a wonderful, personal, evangelist focus. He tells of his 11-year-old son visiting a West St. Louis County Baptist Church, coming home and the story of the Gospel to his parents, and being rebuffed by father (“… shut up and go to your room!”). Marv’s son prayed for his father for 13 years, resulting in Marv – at age 50 — coming to saving faith in Jesus!

Confirming truth from the Bible: when Jesus’ disciples were persecuted as explained in Acts chapter 4, their prayer began …”O Lord, it is you who has made the heavens, and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them …” (Acts 4:24). Also, “… God … made … the heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them…” (Psalm 146, 5, 6).
Let it be clearly noted that Jesus referred to God as the Creator. When asked about marriage … “… he answered and said, ‘Have you not read that He [God] who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh …’” (Matthew 19:4-6).
