Ferguson Pastor Joe Costephens re hundreds to “Crossover,” sharing Gospel before SBC Annual meeting

May 26, 2016

During all the 2014 negative realities of now famous Ferguson, Mo, Joe Costephens – now Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Ferguson — sees the crisis resulting in wide-open opportunities to spread the good news of Jesus!

Hear him talk about it in his own words.

Even with the devastation of the crisis events “close to home” — the “Little Caesar’s Pizza Parlor” right across the street from the church property was burned out and destroyed — Joe optimistically sees works of God emerging in the midst of it all.

Some points in this brief radio conversation…

·  “Crossover” – In 2016 the partnering of many St. Louis area churches with hundreds of volunteers coming in from all over the USA.  It is a concentrated focus of sharing the love of Christ in the host city of the Annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention.  Learn more by clicking on  www.namb.net/news/st-louis-baptists-anticipate-crossover-volunteers .

·  Special ministry events involving the FBC of Ferguson in a “pilot project” with the SBC’s “North American Mission Board.”  See www.namb.net/send-network.

·  The good racial “mix” in the Ferguson Church.

·  The 2014 Ferguson crisis leading to various opportunities – and motivations — to advance the Good News of Jesus to everyone.  A search of the word “Ferguson” on www.haroldhendrick.com will provide many stories of a range of ministries. One of them titled … “Pastor Joe Costephens: radio from the streets of the Ferguson, MO conflict; Jesus is the answer’” … can be accessed for anytime listening by clicking on … http://haroldhendrick.com/content/view/564/5/.

·  A special point is made – especially for God’s people who are not “Baptists” – is this reminder:  Some great preachers of the Word of God … aired daily on Bott Radio Network … include Adrian Rogers, Charles Stanley, and David Jeremiah. So we note that for those comfortable with the “24/7” content of Bott Radio Network, you will be “comfortable” with the messages coming from most Southern Baptist Churches.
