As a former pastor in north St. Louis County, I remember dear Sharleen Kitchen … mother and grandmother … and daughter Diane … on their own initiative leading, hosting “Back Yard Bible Clubs.” I don’t remember anyone providing them the materials they could use. They did it! And God blessed it!
Child Evangelism Fellowship stands ready to provide kits (valued at $120) containing banners, DVDs of the children’s Jesus video for each family, and all sorts of additional aids – for each person committing to host a Christmas Across America party for children.
The goal of this first year of Christmas Across America parties is to reach 100,000 children with the true meaning of Christmas. As of this writing, more than 2000 commitments have been made … with their helpful kits of materials being sent to them.
The exciting vision, concept, and opportunity is explained .. and training is provided “on line” … at www.christmasacrossamerica.com … which includes the following notation:
“The Jesus Film Project [ http://jesusfilmmedia.org/1_529-cl-0 ] is providing 100,000 free DVD copies of The Story of Jesus for Children DVDs for the CEF Christmas Across America outreach! Twenty DVDs will be in each Christmas Across America kit. Teams may gift one DVD to each family attending a Christmas party.”
Moises Esteves. a native of Portugal, received Jesus into his life at a children’s camp in his homeland. As an adult he came to the United States and first ministered through Child Evangelism Fellowship in New England. He now lives in the Warrenton, MO, area, one hour west of St. Louis, MO. serving in the international headquarters of CEF.
In 2014 Child Evangelism Fellowship staff members and volunteers presented the gospel of Jesus – face to face, eye to eye – to more than 19,000,000 children in nearly 200 countries!
Just before preparing this copy, I awoke with impressions of individuals and groups that I hope will seriously consider hosting a “Christmas Across America” party:
