Rev. Larry Rice, founder of the New Life Evangelistic Center in St. Louis, MO (www.newlifeevangelisticcenter.org), discusses efforts by St. Louis “City Hall” to shut down 90% of NLEC’s remarkable ministry to the poor and homeless.
It is notable that governmental agencies of the City of St. Louis send homeless people to NLEC for overnight care!
Caring for upwards of 300 homeless people each night … children, women, men, minorities, veterans, etc. … the results are amazing! On a “per person, per night” basis, New Life Evangelistic Center provides more than 70,000 nights of care … each year.
Hear Larry Rice as he shares enlightening information on the situation … with 2015 deadlines approaching that would all but shut down this remarkable service to the homeless … in Jesus name.
An interesting aside: NLEC depends heavily on volunteers to help the homeless. In one of these three radio conversations with Rev. Rice, he noted that Mayor James Knowles III of Ferguson, MO served as a NLEC volunteer in seeking out the homeless to care for them. This began before the 2014 tragedies in Ferguson that received worldwide attention.
