Team Lead Kelly Burke: heartwarming stories re Billy Graham’s Rapid Response Team in Ferguson

Kelly Burke tells stories of people in Ferguson receiving Christ, with some gang members giving up their weapons.  He tells of a young black in Ferguson, after a time with a BGEA Rapid Response Chaplain, say: I’ve never been hugged by a white man before!”

Following a 25 year career in law enforcement, Kelly was asked to by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to serve on their ministry staff.  He accepted and is now their Emergency Response and Logistics Manager of the BGEA’s Rapid Response Team. (See www.billygraham.org/rrt)

In this brief time of radio, Kelly Burke explains the Rapid Response Ministry … which began with the needs of 9/11 in New York City.  He tells moving stories of the nearly 30 BGEA’s Rapid Response Chaplains – all identified by their Billy Graham blue shirts — following the tragic events in Ferguson, MO. 

A 40-foot truck serves as the mobile headquarters of the Rapid Response Team.  The truck … with attractive and eye-catching graphics on its side … has written on the top of the truck’s cab … “Serving in Jesus Name.”
