As of this writing, Romanian missionary Martin Mallette just preached, played his guitar, and sang the Gospel of Jesus … with a focus on missions … in the Sunday morning worship service of the First Baptist Church of Ferguson, MO (www.fbcferguson.org) on Sunday morning of November 16, 2014.
He had become friends with Ferguson pastor Stoney Shaw at a conference of Grace Fellowship International in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee – “… promoting Christ-centered biblical counseling internationally …” (See www.gfiworld.wordpress.com) Pastor Shaw was leading a conference on the “Exchanged Life” with a major focus on Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
That friendship was the instrument that brought missionary Martin to the First Baptist Church of Ferguson, MO
Martin Mallette once told the Lord that he wanted to serve Him … but did not want to go to Russia or Romania … and did not want to minister to Gypsies. Now he ministers to Gypsies in Romania.”
At the website, one can readily see how Martin uses his guitar and his very listenable music (a former secular professional musician) to attract people to the Gospel. With Romanians listening in the audience, he sings “People need the LORD” … and tells his short and inspiring story. Also heard and seen is the testimony of a public official – Chief of Police and in the Secret Service — who once persecuted and tortured Christians before himself coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ.
