In 2013 the St. Louis region … which also includes 10 eastern Missouri counties … volunteers and churches gave an amazing 51,771 shoeboxes, 10,000+ beyond the number given in 2012!
Now this one OCC district has become three, with Vicki providing coordinated leadership for St. Louis City and County.
She notes with appreciation the three churches in 2014 that provide their facilities (Sat, Sept 27) for the annual gatherings and orientation of OCC volunteers:
· 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon is St. Pauls Lutheran Church is West St. Louis County;
· 12:30 – 3:00 PM in St. Marks Lutheran Church in Eureka (near “Six Flags” Park; and
· 2:00 – 4:00 PM in Grace Community Church in St. Peters in St. Charles County.
Those seeing this at the last minute are welcomed to just “show up!”
While this radio recording was conducted and broadcast in 2014, the basic “flow” of it is a reminder as to what is to happen each year … right up until Jesus returns.
Karen Banegas (“ban ne’ gas”), who as a child received a shoebox following a hurricane disaster in 1999, will be present to tell her story at each of these events.
