John Ritland and Brad Wos bring good information regarding the St. Louis “Cup of Nations” annual soccer (football) tournament (www.cupofnations.com). It began in St. Louis in 2010. Each year it has been graced with success in building relationships … building “bridges” — with internationals from all around the world who have come to live in the United States. Now more cities are hosing their own “Cup of Nations” events.
Occurring each July since 2010 (July 18 & 19 in 2014), the tournament is made possible by Jesus followers as a “gift” to the people of the world’s nations who have come to St. Louis. As of this writing, approximately 50 teams of internationals are participating. With the 2014 World Cup of football occurring the same summer, interest is especially high.
I have personally enjoyed the picnic style meal with the “Cup of Nations” hosts and new internationals – that followed the games — when I attended in the past.
Brief times of previous radio regarding the Cup of Nations tournament in St. Louis are as follows:

“John Ritland, Brad Wos re sports as ministry: www.cupofnations.com soccer tourney for internationals by clicking on http://haroldhendrick.com/content/view/427/5/ “
Radio guest John Ritland (more recent than he one referenced above) — retired engineer from Boeing Aircraft, is impressive in many ways. Following a successful career in his profession, John could be doing a lot of things to please himself. Instead, with his heart for God and for people, he is finding much joy as he devotes much time and heart to ministering with others, in making this significant “Cup of Nations” Tournament possible.
