Promise Christian Academy in St. Louis, MO, — led by Head of School Meredith Heintz — is only one of five such schools for special needs children in the USA. Growth in meeting the needs of these precious children has led the school to seek their own grounds and building.

Promise Christian Academy of St. Louis, MO, founded in 2004, provides a faith-based education for children with multiple disabilities. Our school integrates academics and high-nurture in small classroom setting for students diagnosed with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and other pervasive developmental delays. The educational goal of Promise is to dignify and to empower every student.
When Meredith was a student at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis (at the same time as our daughter Karis), she did her required community service project with special needs children. The experience helped her discover her calling from God. Now she leads such a unique school … and currently utilizes several Westminster students in their community projects in a similar way as she did.
(A sad aside: following this radio time with Meredith, I saw television news accounts of how Promise Academy had been robbed and extensively vandalized. She communicated very well in her St. Louis TV interviews. The school, birthed by Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, is seeking to purchase its own land and build its own building for these precious, special children … and, thus, would be a wonderful and worthy recipient for tax deductible gifts!)
More about Promise Christian Academy:
Promise Christian Academy helps to build stronger families and a better community by cultivating, supporting, and enriching its students. Our faculty and therapists prefer using the term “learning differences” to “learning disabilities” because they never want their pupils to see themselves as victims. To the Promise staff, each disability or physical handicap is a unique starting point from which our students can make baby steps or giant leaps. Promise Christian Academy keeps hope and optimism alive in families and the community by celebrating daily victories in the lives of Promise students.
Promise Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students of the school. Promise Christian Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national ethnic origin in administration of its education policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, and other school administered programs.
Now you can listen to Head of School Meredith Heintz talk about Promise Christian Academy … in her own words.
