Paul Kruse reports that God “fired” him from his career of home remodeling and repair … so that he and the volunteers could show love and care to the homeless in his region {just west of St. Louis, MO), helping them “get back on their feet.”. It began when Paul, as a layman, for many years coordinated a weekly worship service for “truckers” (9:00 – 10:30 AM each Sunday) at theT & A Truck Stop on Interstate 70 in Foristell, MO, just west of St. Louis. Hundreds have attended.
It continues today. The truck drivers keep coming … and we are invited to join them on any Sunday morning.
In this ongoing experience, Paul Kruse discovered that homeless men in the area had no available shelter and were often sleeping in the woods behind the truck stop. He was moved with compassion to help. Thus was birthed ““First Step Back Home” (www.firststepbackhome.net), a great ministry that provides them food, shelter, and transportation to seek work. (They must document several applications for work each day to continue to receive shelter in the Budget Inn Motel provided for their shelter.) Thus they are helped to “get back on their feet,” becoming independent and putting homelessness behind them … all in Jesus Name!
In this radio conversation, Paul Kruse also tells of an annual “party” for the homeless and the First Step Back Home volunteers, further showing them love and hope … and helping them move toward putting homeless behind them!
Supporters are finding joy by supporting this great ministry. You are invited to join them.
Hear Paul Kruse tell about it … in his own words.
