Amazing, wonderful reality: since Samaritans Purse’s Operation Christmas Child began in 1993, more than 100,000,000 (that’s 100 million!) shoeboxes of gifts have been delivered to poor children in most of the nations of the world!
And you and your church can be a part of it.
Janet Howard, Church Relations Coordinator for the St. Louis & Mid-Eastern Missouri area for Operation Christmas Child (www.samaritanspurse.org), talks of the joy of being a part… and, as an example, tells of seeing children in a Zambian African hospital, assembled together, explode with joy and excitement as they each were given and opened his/her shoebox!
With a goal of the region producing 46,000 shoeboxes the year of this interview, an increase over the previous year, Janet speaks of the 75 new churches they hope to add this year.
Will you and your church be one of them?
About Janet’s radio conversation with me, Vick Stamps, Media Coordinator for the St. Louis & Mid-Eastern Missouri area for Operation Christmas Child, wrote …
… “This will be a great opportunity for us to recruit those 75 new churches [in her region] to pack more shoeboxes. The impact of her trip to Zambia will move hearts as it did on Saturday [when area OCC volunteers, filled with joy, met together]. I'm so looking forward to hearing the two of you chat about Operation Christmas Child and the children of Zambia.”
