“If you gave a Bible to everyone in the world in his or her own language, the majority could not read it!”
The world’s majority is composed of primarily oral and visual learners, rather that literary readers.
It was on this reality that the International Orality Network was born, founded by the late Dr. Avery Willis, with the desire to complete the Great Commission of Jesus (Matthew 28: 18-20) by including an emphasis on reaching the world’s oral majority.
Rev. Samuel Chiang of Hong Kong is the successor to Dr. Willis and is now ION’s Executive Director. He can be heard “right now” by accessing the radio conversation that is available below for anytime listening. In his own words, Samuel explains the vision and ministry of ION … and invites us all to ION’s Annual Conference, the next one (as I write) in St. Louis, MO September 16 – 19, 2013. More info is available at www.orality.net.
