Lynne Jackson is a great-great granddaughter of history’s Dred and Harriet Scott and Director of The Dred Scott Heritage Foundation. A longtime friend, Lynne tells the powerful and dramatic story of her ancestor’s major role in advancing freedom for all slaves. Among the positive results from Lynne and the Foundation’s efforts are the greatly increased focus to the heritage and contribution of her ancestors, their impact on freeing all slaves, and a warm and moving life-size statue of Harriet and Dred Scott being created and now placed on the southeast side of the historic old courthouse immediately west of the St. Louis arch in downtown St. Louis, MO. Several depictions of which can be seen at www.thedredscottfoundation.com.
