Dr. John Yeats, Executive Director of the 1,900 + member churches of the Missouri Baptist Convention, rejoices and praises God for the unanimous election of the first African-American President of the Southern Baptist Convention, Dr. Fred Luter of the Franklin Ave Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. In addition to John’s servant-leadership role in Missouri, for years he has served as the elected Recording Secretary of the SBC’s national Convention. That national office thus allowed him the privilege of officially recording the vote of the messengers (delegates) of the 2012 Annual Meeting with his personal resounding “Hallelujah!!”. — In the conclusion of this radio discussion, Dr. Yeats restates his passion in behalf of the essential importance of religious liberty … and thus his deep opposition to what is known as the Federal Government’s “Mandate.”
