Hear an extraordinary radio conversation — perhaps historic in its partnership — with Archbishop of St. Louis Most Rev. Robert Carlson, leader of the largest group of Catholics in Missouri; and Dr. John Yeats, Executive Director of the Missouri Baptist Convention’s 1,900 churches, solidly unified as leaders of a “Rally For Religious Liberty” at the Missouri State Capitol on March 27, 2102 in Jefferson City, MO.
The rally itself also includes Ms. Maggie Kerner representing the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and a spokesperson from Missouri Right to Life.
The reason for these three leaders of the three largest religious bodies speaking in unity? The Federal Government’s violation of constitutional protection of religious liberty by proposing to force religious entities to pay for insurance that would ultimately finance abortions and other actions in violations of their religious principles.

MISSOURI CATHOLICS AND PROTESTANTS TEAM UP TO DEFEND FREEDOM OF RELIGION “Rally for Religious Liberty” to be held at State Capitol
(St. Louis, MO) — (St. Louis, MO) — The President’s federal healthcare mandate is causing an extraordinary result. Later this month, the Missouri Catholic Conference will join forces with the Missouri Baptist Convention, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and Missouri Right to Life to show support for conscience rights.
A “Rally for Religious Liberty” will take place in the Missouri State Capitol Rotunda at Noon on March 27th, 2012. Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis, will speak, along with Dr. John Yeats, Executive Director of Missouri Baptist Convention, and Ms. Maggie Karner with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
“We can’t afford to be passive when our federal government has taken a position that forces people of faith and religious entities to act in a way that is contrary to our morals and beliefs,” said Archbishop Carlson.
“We have seen decades of tragedy resulting from the overreach of government in the Roe v Wade decision. It is important for us to do something now to secure conscience rights for citizens and avoid further tragedy.” Carlson added.
Organizers are hoping at least 8,000 will join together, wearing red, to show support for conscience rights. Registration begins at 10 am for attendees interested in speaking with their legislators in advance.
Transportation is available.
