Desperate times have motivated Missouri legislators from “behind the scenes” to request prayer from those in Missouri and beyond who come before God in prayer. Nationally known Alan Keyes, man of passion and oratory, was secured to lead this time of prayer from 12:00 noon to 1:30 PM on Monday, March 26, 2012 in the Rotunda of the Missouri State Capitol … followed by 40 days of prayer… for seeking the Lord Himself. For those reading this in the future, similar times of prayer will be raised before the living God to, in repentance, seek His forgiveness, mercy, grace, and transformation.
Such is a pattern followed by elected officials in our country for around 300 years.
Giving leadership to the event’s planning and promotion is Sue Stoltz, six-state coordinator in mid-America for the national Day of Prayer and Mid-Missouri staff member of Bott Radio Network.
Be impacted as you note the seven quotes found etched in stone in the circle of Missouri’s Capitol Rotunda:
· “Party Honesty is Party Expediency”
· “Lord God of Hosts Be with us yet – Lest We Forget” *
· “Ideas Control the World”
· “Where There is No Vision, the People Perish” *
· “Prosperity is the Fruit of Labor”
· “The Earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof” *
· “Righteousness Exalts a Nation” *
*Directs quotes from the Holy Bible. The other three truisms are based upon Biblical principles.
