Kim Smith is the volunteer director of Open Arms Ministry, reaching out to orphans and abandoned children around the world. Headquartered in the facilities of Calvary Church in St. Peters, MO, Kim, her staff, and the church regularly offer training to others for ministries in the areas of adoptions, orphans, and foster care, but in this radio conversation she specifically focuses on an upcoming one-day conference for those who want to learn more, or help in doing it better.
From www.openarmssupport.com: In our world today, it is estimated that there are more than 153 million orphans and waiting children. Every one of these forgotten children is God's most precious treasures that exist. They too are part of God's family and as believers we are called to be the first to reach out to orphaned and abandoned children around the world. God has always had a plan in place to protect and provide for the orphan. His plan is and always has been that we, His followers, would seek and serve those orphaned, foster, and waiting children in His name, regardless of personal cost.
Calvary Church Open Arms Ministry exists to provide hope for orphans and educate the church and community concerning adoption, foster care and orphan care.
Our vision is to reach out to orphaned and abandoned children around the world. In addition, we will provide support and education to families who are called to adopt or foster.
Let us reach the world for Christ, one home and one child at a time. Has God called you to adopt or foster? We are all called to visit the orphans in their distress as it reads in James 1:27. What are you doing to make a difference?
