Nathaniel Johnson, “Boogie” Anders; both offenders, in prison, converted; now ministry to offenders

March 8, 2011

Nathaniel “Nathan” Johnson spent altogether one-quarter century in prisons because of his crimes.  When released the last time, he was once again headed “… back to his old ways.”   It was while in a “crack” house that he “cried out to God.”  Within a couple of months his mother and ex wife led him to transforming faith in Jesus.  Nathan and his wife remarried and for several years together serve in ministry to ex-offenders.

Michael “Boogie” Anders was addicted to gambling and robbed banks to finance his habit.  While in federal prison he experienced a life changing encounter with Jesus.  His change was so dramatic that his fellow inmates began calling “Boogie” … “Brother Boogie!”  Upon his release he responded to his calling to minister the Gospel to those in prison and who had been in prison.  In time Brother Boogie appealed for a support gift a bank he had robbed … and received from that bank a $5,000 ministry donation!  Part of his work included beginning the “Cons Moving Company,” which provides jobs for ex offenders.

Now both men, longtime friends, find ways to support each other in their respective ministries to help people who had lived like themselves. Indeed, these are powerful stories of the works of God!  Both men can be reached through Brother Boogie’s phone: (314) 605-7173.
