“Emiko Taguchi is the wife of So Taguchi of the St. Louis Cardinals major league baseball team…and is a well known media personality in her native Japan. She was the “anchor” of a nation-wide television news program while also hosting a radio show. In the realm of being famous, Emiko has been described as “the Katie Couric” of Japan. Being articulate, attractive, and famous, the cameras of the “paparazzi” sought her out and followed her “24/7,” all the time. That constant pressure took joy out of the experience of being famous. Emiko (accent on the “E”) tells of coming to the United States and being the wife of her St. Louis Cardinal husband. Referring to her life with popular baseball hero So Taguchi and their small child, in contrast to her days of media fame, Emiko says: “I love being a housewife!” Regarding her spiritual journey, Emiko shares that when So played in the minor leagues in the United States, another baseball couple befriended the Taguchis and invited them to a Bible Study. She was reluctant to attend in fear that it might be a “cult.” In this radio conversation with Emiko Taguchi, she tells of the results and of her developing spiritual life and its impact on her and So. Emiko also indicates her interest, support, and involvement in the www.christianfamilyday.com events.
